DIVISION of Fractions: Grades 4-6
In this session you will explore ways to help students
conceptually understand division of fractions. We will
use hands-on manipulatives and the rectangular area
model of division. How does the concept relate to the
algorithm? Why do we flip the second fraction when we
divide? We will utilize the CCSS Progression Documents
to model how to teach the beginnings of fractions through
the algorithms.
