From data presented in news on topics such as elections and public health, to data analytics reported from social media and fitness apps, data permeate many aspects of daily life. Calls for data science education focus on the need for all students to become data literate through K-12 education in order to be active and well-informed members of society. Several states are leading data science education efforts by incorporating more statistics and data science in their PreK-12 mathematics standards. In this workshop, we will discuss recommendations, resources, activities, and investigations to use directly in the classroom that are aligned with the most current guidelines to help deliver statistics and data science in their classroom.
