Going Deeper with Fostering Ratio and Proportional Reasoning, grades 6-9

Our math teacher leaders are offering a second series of 3 meetings to further your understanding of such complex concepts. Ratio reasoning and proportional reasoning are foundational to upcoming math and science courses as well as career choices. This PD series approaches the development of proportional reasoning through the following contexts: division of fractions, sampling, probability, slope, similarity, and geometry. Participants will receive a copy of “Teaching Fractions and Ratios for Understanding: Essential Content Knowledge and Instructional Strategies for Teachers” by Susan Lamon (4th ed.)
