SUMMARY:An Introduction to Argumentation for Grades 3-9
DESCRIPTION:Join our math teacher leaders to experience SMP 3 Argumentation and its connections with SMP 6\, 7\, and 8.  Through hands-on experiences\, you will learn how to form\, collect\, and revise conjectures.  Then you will collect more evidence and construct a class conjecture.  The group will collaboratively draft a justification.  The team will be explicit about ways to facilitate and support argumentation in your classroom.  Participants will receive a copy of “Teaching with Mathematical Argument: Strategies for Supporting Everyday Instruction” by Stylianou and Blanton.
